November is my absolute favorite month of the year! I recently came across Sweet November, an eco-friendly online clothing boutique. The name combines two of my favorite things: Sweet and November. I had the opportunity to chat with the owner Ashlei to find out more about the boutique, which opened in August. Ashlei’s inspiration for opening was her love of eco-friendly clothing. The idea was to create one place with fashionable eco-friendly, fair trade and locally made clothing.
Ashlei described Sweet November as “a socially conscious e-boutique catering to the modern, trend-setting environmentalist.” All items are either recycled/upcycled, organic, fair-trade, locally made, or eco-friendly. The boutique offers affordable items ranging from $10-$100. Sweet November is currently online with future plans for pop up shops and expansion to Children, Mens and Housewares.
The owner so kindly gifted me this beautiful lightweight, sheer scarf in fuschia; the scarf is also available in slate and gold. Ashlei shared an interesting fact about the scarves, “Indian artisans working on these scarves receive fair wages and are given help to develop their communities. By buying this product you are supporting fair trade and ensuring a dignified lifestyle for an entire community.” I believe anything we can do to preserve the environment helps.
